Just a short post

Today is the weekend for everyone. Still I'm stuck in the lab trying to finish off my final year project a.k.a fyp before the end of March. A lot of hurdles have to pass through (fyp, assignments, exams etc.). But these will become a thing of the past and memories will still be there for us to remember.

CNY 2011

This year's Chinese New Year starts on 3rd February. But for us we had a one week holiday. This year me and my family went back earlier to Sibu to celebrate CNY. As usual I drive from Kch to Sibu with an average speed of 110 kph. Quite fast but with the addition of thrill to the ever winding and narrow Trans Borneo highway. We spent some days in Sibu for last minute shopping. With a rising water over the Rajang river, my grandma's house was flooded but as the house was built on stilts, so quite safe from the water. Had the chance to do some exercise by rowing a sampan. On the 1st day of CNY, the weather was good and we receive guests at home. On the 2nd day, we went on visiting our relatives all the the Sibu town and outskirts. Angpau? As usual a lot, but there must be give and take. Food was sumptuous and delicious. We went back on the 3rd day of CNY. A lot of vehicles on the road with a slower but constant speed.

What a busy holiday month for most of us... There's just few more weeks to go before the start of new semester. This time my holiday is not the same as the previous holiday. This holiday I'm busy with my final year project as I try my best to finish my lab work by the end of this semester. But it seems like the work is not as what I expect. A lot of trial and error, and most of the experiment failed to give any positive result. 5 more days to go before we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. And this year's Christmas I will be away from home as I have important task to do in my campus.

Today is my last paper for my fifth semester. Quite tricky i can say,but all depend on your common sense. Some things are usually done in life without you realizing it. Now it's time for semester break, which means holiday for uni student. But life as a final year student is totally different. Now have to sacrifice holiday in order to do some work on the fyp. What can we say....preparing ourselves for working life? Life's a journey...a journey that takes you to somewhere that only God knows.

Student life

what happen to the student life nowadays? I've no idea whether it becomes better or worse. It's up to the individual to decide. Today one of our beloved lecturer told us, "you just 'swallowed' whatever you learn in the notes,then 'vomit' them out during the exam". Is this the lifestyle of the student today? Is the advancement in technology brought this kind of situation? This is just the reminder to myself and all the people who are called 'student'.

It's the fourth day of november. Also the fourth day of the study week. I've been busy doing some experiments in the laboratory for my FYP. Four days of doing things and I have to repeat the experiments 3 times. What a waste of my energy and time. But for sure I learnt something from this experience. 'Doing things in correct way' is what my supervisor told me before this. I'm sorry if I have failed. But I learnt from this failure to be more experience in decision and doing things according to procedure.

Today is the 10th October 2010. I'm sure it's an auspicious day for couples to get married today. Also today is the second day of UNIMAS convocation and my senior biotech friends graduating today. Congratulation for them! As usual we as the final year students of biotech are busy with our FYP, assignments and activities in and around UNIMAS. Surely everyone feels the pressure of meeting the deadlines. Talk about convocation, hopefully next year we will create another history, that is the first batch of students graduating in the new UNIMAS hall (Dewan UNIMAS). The hall can accomodate approximately 5,000 peoples at one time (from what I heard), and that covers almost half of the present student population in UNIMAS. Till then, I will update this blog once I have free time...
