Sabah Trip - Day 7 (Last Day)

Today went to Sacred Heart Cathedral KK for Sunday mass. First time going for mass in KK. After having breakfast at nearby cafe, were fetch by Majoree. Went for the 9 a.m English mass. It was celebrated by Bishop John Lee of KK Diocese.



After the mass, we went to Gaya Street. Bought some souvenirs there. After that, we went to the Philiphine Market. Surveying the Sabah Pearl.  There were various type of pearl, ranging from few Ringgit until thousands of Ringgit. Had refreshing coconut drink at the market.  From there, we went to Suria Sabah. Walkaround the mall. Had the chance to visit the exhibition held by UMS. Queried about the postgraduates courses offered by UMS. Next, we went to KKIA for check-in. While on our way, received a message from MAS that our flight had been retimed to 8.45 p.m, instead of the original 7.45 p.m departure. But still proceed on to check-in at the airport using the self check-in kiosk. Went to the nearby Tanjung Aru beach to enjoy the sunset and dinner together. Went back to the airport after dinner. Went into the departure hall around 7.15p.m.

Arrived at Kuching International Airport around 10.20 p.m. Overall, the trip was meaningful and memorable. Thank you once again to everyone for making the trip memorable. Thank you for reading this post.

Sabah Trip - Day 6

Wake up around 9 a.m. The weather outside was not good.  Been raining cats and dogs. Breakfast at nearby KFC.

Went back to hotel to rest after breakfast. Stayed in the room until around 11 a.m. The weather that time began to turn fine.  Went out for lunch at nearby cafe. After lunch, walked to Karamunsing Complex.

From Karamunsing, we were brought by aunty for sight-seeing to Tuaran.


While arriving at Tuaran, got the chance to view the mighty Mount Kinabalu

Going around Tuaran town area. Went to Kent Teacher's Training Institute. It was one of the oldest teacher's training institute in Sabah.

The next destination was Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). Went around UMS

After going around UMS, went to the nearby One Borneo shopping complex. Had a walkaround.

From One Borneo, went back to hotel. Had the chance to visit Tadau Kaamatan Open House at Merdeka Square Sabah. Quite an interesting event. Back to hotel a bit earlier and retire earlier to bed.

Sabah Trip - Day 5

Wake up at 5.30 a.m. Here the sunrise was earlier, around 6 a.m. Getting ready to depart for Kota Kinabalu after overnight in Keningau. Travel to the bus station around 7.00 a.m. Had our drinks at the cafe near the bus station.

Depart for KK at 8 a.m. The journey was faster as I previously thought, because of the descend from the Crooker Range.  Arrive at KK around 10 a.m.  Then walk to the nearby hotel. Checked-in at Century Hotel at Bandaran Street. After a quick rest, went out with my friend Majoree.


Went to Penampang to meet Cornelia
From there, we went to KDCA, which stood for Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association centre. Walk around the place to see various kinds of Kadazan Dusun houses.

After a brief walkaround, when to Meredith's house to fetch her.
Went to Donggongon for quick lunch. After that, went around the Penampang area. Visited the St Michael Church, Penampang, which was one of the oldest church in Sabah.

From there, we continued our journey which was to visit Kennedy, whose house was burned down due to short circuit, in Inobong Penampang. (visit Meredith's blog for more stories)


After a brief visit, went on to Monsopiad Cultural Village.

Then we proceed to the Double Six Memorial at Sembulan.  Coincidently met with the Hitz.fm KK cruisers at the scene.

At night, we went sight seeing around KK until Sepanggar, where we passed by LIkas, UMS, One Borneo etc.
