Sabah Trip - Day 5

Wake up at 5.30 a.m. Here the sunrise was earlier, around 6 a.m. Getting ready to depart for Kota Kinabalu after overnight in Keningau. Travel to the bus station around 7.00 a.m. Had our drinks at the cafe near the bus station.

 Keningau town in the morning
Depart for KK at 8 a.m. The journey was faster as I previously thought, because of the descend from the Crooker Range.  Arrive at KK around 10 a.m.  Then walk to the nearby hotel. Checked-in at Century Hotel at Bandaran Street. After a quick rest, went out with my friend Majoree.

Went to Penampang to meet Cornelia
From there, we went to KDCA, which stood for Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association centre. Walk around the place to see various kinds of Kadazan Dusun houses.

(forgot what name was the swing...)

After a brief walkaround, when to Meredith's house to fetch her.
Went to Donggongon for quick lunch. After that, went around the Penampang area. Visited the St Michael Church, Penampang, which was one of the oldest church in Sabah.
 SM St Michael Penampang
The inside of St Michael Church
The grotto of St Michael Church
St Michael Church, Penampang (age approximately 135 years old)
From there, we continued our journey which was to visit Kennedy, whose house was burned down due to short circuit, in Inobong Penampang. (visit Meredith's blog for more stories)

After a brief visit, went on to Monsopiad Cultural Village.

 Trying the catapult
Crossing the Moyog river on a suspension bridge

Then we proceed to the Double Six Memorial at Sembulan.  Coincidently met with the Hitz.fm KK cruisers at the scene.

Won some prizes and goodies from Hitz.fm KK cruisers

At night, we went sight seeing around KK until Sepanggar, where we passed by LIkas, UMS, One Borneo etc.
(to be continue...)
